The new waste treatment plant developed by Intelligent Fuel Solutions for GEDIT S.p.A. stands as a significant example of innovation and sustainability in alternative fuel production. Designed to transform non-hazardous special waste into high-quality energy resources, the facility ensures consistent output, chlorine-free fuel and maximum material recovery. 

By integrating advanced shredding, separation and refining technologies, the plant achieves up to 95% recovery of processed materials, minimizing landfill disposal while generating valuable secondary raw materials and high-performance alternative fuels. With a capacity of 100,000 tons per year and continuous 24/7 operation, the project reflects a strong and successful partnership, combining technological expertise and operational excellence to support the transition toward a circular economy.

Innovation in motion for the circular economy

In Pomezia, Ecosystem S.p.A. has inaugurated a new waste treatment plant designed and built by Intelligent Fuel Solutions. The result of a decade-long collaboration, the project integrates advanced technologies into an existing structure, complying with the latest European directives. A compact, high-efficiency plant designed to maximise material and energy recovery, reduce landfill disposal and transform waste into a concrete resource for the Pomezia area.

METALFERRO

A European hub for high-efficiency SRF

In Vomano (TE), Metalferro Srl and Intelligent Fuel Solutions d.o.o. have built one of Europe's most advanced CSS production plants. Designed to operate continuously, 24/7, the plant transforms industrial, commercial and sorted waste into high-quality secondary solid fuel that is perfectly homogeneous and constantly monitored. A complex project, integrated “just in time” without interrupting the activities of the adjacent cement factory, combining total automation, digital control and latest-generation sorting and shredding technologies. With a capacity of up to 250,000 tonnes per year, the Vomano plant is now a European benchmark for efficiency, reliability and sustainability in waste recovery and alternative energy production.

EDR

Technological revamping for a more efficient and sustainable plant

At its plant in Ala (Trento), EDR, a Greencogroup company, has completed the revamping of the plant designed and built in collaboration with Intelligent Fuel Solutions. The project has led to the introduction of a new highly automated production line, capable of increasing overall efficiency and the production of secondary solid fuel (CSS), while drastically reducing final waste.

Thanks to the integration of latest-generation machinery and a targeted redesign of process flows, the plant now recovers almost all of the incoming materials, limiting landfill disposal to less than 10%. With a capacity of over 150,000 tonnes per year, the Ala site is a concrete example of the circular economy applied to industry, where engineering innovation, environmental sustainability and production performance work in perfect balance.
